SHAMOKIN — Robert "Bob" Swatt, 66, of Shamokin, passed away Friday, July 18, 2014. He was ill the past several years.
He was born May 31, 1948, in Shamokin, a son of Bette (Blusius) Swatt, and the late Michael Swatt.
He was a graduate of the former St. Mary's Catholic School in Shamokin.
After attending high school, he served in the U.S. Army, and was awarded his honorable discharge.
While living in Kentucky, he married the former Norma Deloris, who preceded him in death Feb. 19, 1999.
Bob was employed in the construction field as a bricklayer. He also attended culinary school in Kentucky, and served as a cook and chef at various hotels and restaurants. He truly enjoyed cooking, especially making homemade ethnic foods.
He was a member of Mother Cabrini Church, Shamokin.
Survivors, in addition to his mother, Bette, include a son, Craig Swatt, of Dubuque, Iowa; sisters, Andrea Reed and her husband, Harry, of Coal Township, Brenda Roadarmel and her husband, Craig, of Elysburg, and Lori Hobaugh and her husband, Gene, of Paoli; a brother, Michael Swatt and his wife, Juliane, of Mechanicsburg; his close companion, Anna Kozee, of Shamokin, and nieces and nephews.
SWATT — Robert "Bob" Swatt, 66, of Shamokin. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday at Mother Cabrini Church, Shamokin. Interment will be at a later date in Kentucky. Visitation will be held from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. Thursday at the Stephen A. Chowka Funeral Home, 114 N. Shamokin St., Shamokin. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Mother Cabrini Church, 214 N. Shamokin St., Shamokin 17872.
