MARION HEIGHTS — Rose A. Commodari, 86, formerly of 137 E. North St., passed away Wednesday, Jan. 8, 2014, at Sycamore Manor, Montoursville, where she received wonderful care from the loving staff.
She also resided for a time at Timberwood Apartments, Kulpmont.
Born Dec. 24, 1927, in Marion Heights, she was a daughter of the late Antonio and Assunta (Pittelli) Commodari.
She was a 1946 graduate of Kulpmont High School.
Rose retired from the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation Bureau of Motor Vehicles after 27 years of service.
She was a former member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, Marion Heights, and, most recently, a member of the Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Mount Carmel.
Rose was dedicated to the welfare of her family, retiring in 1982 so she could care for her mother and subsequently her siblings. She will be missed by her nephews and niece who looked upon her as a second mother. She took great interest in and joy from her family, neighbors and friends. Music and singing were at the top of her favorite pastimes. She also enjoyed traveling, good food and company.
Survivors include three nephews, Tony, Michael and Robert Sutsko, and a niece, Elizabeth Sutsko, and their families.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Charles and Robert Commodari, and two sisters, Clara Commodari and Betty Sutsko, all from Marion Heights.
COMMODARI — Rose A. Commodari, 86, formerly of 137 E. North St., Marion Heights. Funeral mass will be celebrated at 12:30 p.m. Saturday in the Church of Our Lady, 47 S. Market St., Mount Carmel, with the Rev. Francis Karwacki officiating. Burial will be in Our Lady of Perpetual Help Cemetery, Marion Heights. Viewing will be held from 10:30 a.m. to noon Saturday in the C.J. Lucas Funeral Home, Inc., 1053 Chestnut St., Kulpmont, C.J. Lucas, supervisor.
