MILMONT — Sara Louise Orner, 71, of 273 Nichamas Dr., passed away Friday, Jan. 31, 2014, at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville. She had been ill since August and had been hospitalized various times, most recently on Jan. 10.
She was born Nov. 16, 1942, in Shamokin, a daughter of the late Patrick H. and Evelyn O. (Becker) Madden. She lived in Milmont for the last 10 years.
She was a 1960 graduate of Coal Township High School.
On Oct. 7, 1961, in Ranshaw United Methodist Church, she married Milton Orner, who survives.
She worked as a housewife.
She was a member of Ranshaw United Methodist Church and a former member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Shamokin.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by a daughter, Connie Bills and her husband, George, of Hamburg; a son, John Orner and his wife, Lorie, of Bethel; three grandchildren, Kristian Bills, of Wyalusing, Zachary Bills, of Shartlesville, and Sean Orner, of Bethel, and a brother, Patrick Madden, of Ranshaw.
In addition to her parents, he was preceded in death by four brothers, John, James, Donald and Robert Madden.
ORNER — Sara Louise Orner, 71, of 273 Nichamas Dr., Milmont. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Farrow Funeral Home, Sixth and Chestnut streets, Shamokin, with the Rev. Betty Ford officiating. Burial will be in Northumberland Memorial Park, Stonington. There will be no viewing. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Lymphoma Society, P.O.
