MOUNT CARMEL — Stuart M. Marsh, 56, of 331 N. Orange St., passed away Saturday, April 26, 2014, at Geisinger-Shamokin Area Community Hospital, Coal Township.
Born in Providence, R.I., March 12, 1958, he was a son of the late Graham and Elizabeth (Collins) Marsh.
Stuart attended schools in Rahway, N.J., and served as a tank mechanic with U.S. Army, Company B, 13th Battalion Combat Brigade.
On July 1, 2005, in Mount Carmel, he married the former Lyda Harris, who survives.
He had worked as a night shift manager for Pathmark Food Service.
He was a member of the Atlas American Legion Post 804 and Mount Carmel Fraternal Order of Eagles, and was a former member of the Sons of Poland in Mount Carmel.
Stuart was an avid fan of the New York Yankees, and enjoyed spending his time fishing, gardening, antiquing and remodeling his home.
Surviving in addition to his wife, Lyda, are three daughters, Daria, Stephanie and Jessica Marsh, all of New Jersey; two sons, Michael and Matthew Marsh, both of New Jersey; a stepson, David Johns and his wife, Dana, of Danville; a stepdaughter, Jessica Johns, of Millville; two brothers, Thomas Marsh, of Mount Carmel, and Robert Marsh, of New Jersey; two sisters, Ruth Ann Marsh, of Shamokin, and Roxanne Zacek, of Mount Carmel, and numerous grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
MARSH — Stuart M. Marsh, 56, of 331 N. Orange St., Mount Carmel. Religious services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday from the Joseph J. Stutz Inc. Funeral Home, 40 S. Market St., Mount Carmel, Joseph J. Stutz III, supervisor. The Rev. Joan A. Brown will officiate. Viewing will be at the funeral home from 9 a.m. Friday until time of service.
