Trudy J. Troutman, 60, of Mechanicsburg, died Sunday, July 14, 2013 at her home, following a brave battle with cancer, with family and close friends by her side.
She was born in Danville, Sept. 3, 1952, a daughter of the late Bruce and Jeanette (Wiest) Troutman.
Trudy graduated from Line Mountain High School, Mandata, in 1970.
Her passions included cooking, baking and sewing. She loved to crochet baby afghans to donate to area hospitals and she made doll clothing for family and also donated doll clothing to the children's home at Christmas.
She retired from the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection in April 2005, with 35 years of Commonwealth service.
Trudy is survived by a daughter, Jennifer Klinger, of Herndon; grandchildren, Morgan and Jason and an adopted granddaughter, Madison; a sister, Pamela Troutman, wife of Tab, Valley View; and one niece and three nephews. She also leaves behind a dear friend, Tom Franklin.
She just adored her grandchildren and looked forward to their many visits, as well as attending their school events.
A Celebration of Life memorial service will be held at her residence, 2 Connie Drive, Mechanicsburg, Saturday, July 27, at 11 a.m. Memorial contributions may be made in her memory to the United Methodist Home for Children, 5120 Simpson Ferry Road, Mechanicsburg, PA, 17050.
