William R. Brennan

ORLANDO, Fla. — William R. Brennan, 90, of Orlando, Fla., died Wednesday, Oct. 3, 2012, at Embracing Hospice.

He was born in Mount Carmel, Pa.

A 1940 graduate of Mount Carmel High School, he attended Penn State University.

He served in the Navy during World War II.

He worked as a casualty and commercial insurance underwriter for more than 45 years.

He was a member of the American Legion, Central Florida Rifle and Pistol Club, Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks and Delta Upsilon fraternity.

He loved opera and sang in the Camarata chorus for the Orlando Metropolitan Opera.

William is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Eileen Goolsby and husband, Bill, of Concord, N.C.; three sons, Michael Brennan and wife, Julie, of Canton, Ga., William Brennan and wife, Gayle, of Plano, Texas, and Thomas Brennan and wife, Gina, of California; a sister, Louise Gordon, of Elk Grove Village, Ill., and five grandchildren, Kaya McKenzie, Karen Marie Brennan, John Brennan Jr., Ian Brennan and Camryn Brennan.
