HARRISBURG — Arlene Betty "Sis" Wiseman, 87, received blessed release Saturday, Feb. 15, 2014.

She was born in Dauphin, a daughter of the late George and Mabel (Lyter) Swartz.

She was a graduate of Dauphin elementary and high schools and worked as a "Rosie the Riveter" during World War II.

"Sis" was married in November 1946 to Howard Fleming Wiseman, who proceded her in death June 28, 1993.

She was a nurse's aide at the former Heckton Hall.

Having graduated from the Harrisburg School of Beauty Culture in 1961, she operated a beauty shop out of her home for many years.

She was a member of the Trinity Evangelical Free Church of Dauphin, the Dauphin-Middle Paxton Historical Society and severalanimal rescue organizations.

"Sis" is survived by a daughter, Jeanie M. Wiseman Crowl and her husband, David, of Elysburg; two grandchildren, Katie M. Gephart and her husband, Dan, and Scott David Staley and his wife, Ashley; three great-grandchildren, Laura M. Gephart, Aydan D. Staley and baby girl Gephart, due in April; two sisters, Vesta S. McCauley, of Harrisburg, and Patsy J. Dunzik, of Idaho Falls, Idaho; a brother, Dennis E. Swartz and his wife, Sally, of Dauphin; four nieces, Linda Swartz Berkoben, Mary Lou Dunzik-Gougar, Julie Anne Swartz and Emily Elaine Swartz, and two nephews, Gary S. McCaleb and Dr. Scott Dunzik.

She was predeceased by a sister, Lorma I. McCaleb; a brother, Dean D. Swartz, and a nephew, Robert McCaleb.

WISEMAN — Arlene Betty "Sis" Wiseman, 87, of Harrisburg. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Hoover Funeral Homes & Crematory Inc., 6011 Linglestown Rd., Harrisburg, with David L. Crowl, the Rev. Barbara Welsh and the Rev. Paul Wentz officiating. Burial will be in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville. Visitation will be held from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home prior to the service.
