SUNBURY - Barbara Ann Bidelspach, 78, of Sunbury, passed away Wednesday, Aug. 22, 2018, surrounded by her loving family.

She was born Barbara Ann Carpenter in Sunbury, March 18, 1940, a daughter of the late Earl and Edna (Lehman) Carpenter.

She graduated from Shamokin High School in 1958.

She was married to the late Joseph M. Robatin, Feb. 28, 1959, until his death in 1998. Together they raised four children. A devoted mother, she was deeply involved in her children's lives and activities.

She was formerly employed at Montgomery Ward Department Store and later as a secretary at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville, until her retirement in 1999.

In June 2001, she married her long-time friend and neighbor, Robert L. Bidelspach Sr. With their marriage, an additional four stepsons and two stepdaughters were added to her family.

She was a long time, faithful member of Mount Pleasant United Methodist Church, Sunbury, where she loved singing in the choir. She was passionately involved in the ministries of the church throughout the community of Mount Pleasant.

In addition to her husband, Robert, she is survived by three sons, Richard A. Robatin and his wife, Heidi, of Sunbury, Daniel J. Robatin and his wife, Gina, of Selinsgrove, and David F. Robatin and his wife, Kristin, of Sunbury; a daughter, Deborah A. (Robatin) Plummer, and her husband, Dale, of Media; four stepsons, Robert L. Bidelspach Jr., of Sunbury, Jeffrey A. Bidelspach and Daisy, of Sunbury, Gregory A. Bidelspach and his wife, Mona, of Selinsgrove, and Daniel A Bidelspach, of Columbus, Ohio; two stepdaughters, Denise L. Finan and her husband, Joe, of Milton, and Jodee L. Aucker and her husband, Eric, of Selinsgrove; 15 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two sisters, Bonnie (Carpenter) Alleman and Mary (Carpenter) Wallish-Long, both of Shamokin; and a sister-in-law, Barbara Carpenter, of Paxinos.

Barbara was preceded in death by a brother, Charles Carpenter.
