COAL TOWNSHIP — Bertha Mae Dietrich, 79, of 1119 W. Fern St., passed away at home at 9:12 a.m. Friday, May 3, 2013, following a short illness.

She was born in Coal Township, May 24, 1933, a daughter of the late Edna E. (Conrad) and Raymond Elwood Schleig.
Bertha was a 1951 graduate of Coal Township High School.
On May 24, 1952, in Shamokin, she married Harold Joseph Dietrich, who preceded her in death Feb. 14, 1999.
She worked as a seamstress for Springfield Sportswear.
Bertha was a member of Salem United Church of Christ, Coal Township.
Surviving are her children, Harold J. Dietrich III and his wife, Christine, of Coal Township, Donna Helwig and her husband, Melvin, of Coal Township, Erich Dietrich, at home, Kurt Dietrich, of Coal Township, and Stacy Knapik and her husband, Mark, of Paxinos; nine grandchildren, Vanessa Brosh, Lucus Dietrich, John, Joshua and Jared Seedor, Taylene, Natasha and Brandie Dietrich and Jessica Knapik; six great-grandchildren, and a sister, Betty Boyer, of Shamokin.
DIETRICH — Bertha Mae Dietrich, 79, of 1119 W. Fern St., Coal Township. There will be a private service held at the convenience of the family with burial in Northumberland Memorial Park, Stonington. Farrow Funeral Directors, Shamokin, has charge of arrangements.
