ELYSBURG — Bertram L. (Bert, "Buddy") Klinger, 82, of 167 Orange St., passed away Saturday, July 12, 2013, at his home surrounded by his loving family.

He was born in Klingerstown, July 10, 1931, a son of the late Florence (Fertig) Klinger Pensyl and Leon Ray Klinger.
He graduated in 1949 from Shamokin High School.
Bertram was married in St. John's United Church of Christ, Shamokin, in 1951, to his high school sweetheart, the former Jeanne Wary, who survives. They recently celebrated their 62nd wedding anniversary.
He worked as a baker in Shamokin for 25 years and for Washington National Insurance Company for 25 years, retiring in 1992, at which time he moved to Elysburg.
In addition to his wife, Bertram is survived by four children, Cynthia Mirillo and her husband, Frank, twins, Kathy Kufta and her husband, Robert, and Karen Mackey, and Laurie Clark and her husband, Jonathan; he was also the proud "Pap" of four grandchildren, Dana Sarnoski, Jeanne Ann Krolick, Richard Mirillo and Emma Clark; a great-granddaughter, Olivia Sarnoski; a sister, Lena Herr and her husband, David, of Hummelstown, and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a half-brother, Gary Lee Pensyl; in-laws, Mr. and Mrs. G. Stanley Wary, and a son-in-law, Robert Mackey.
KLINGER — Bertram L. (Bert, "Buddy") Klinger, 82, of 167 Orange St., Elysburg. A private service will be held at the convenience of the family. Funeral arrangements are under the care of Farrow's Funeral Home, 240 W. Chestnut St., Shamokin. In lieu of flowers, the family request memorial contributions be made to VNA Health System, 21 W. independence St. Shamokin; or St. John's United Church of Christ, 117 N. Eighth St., Shamokin.
