SHENANDOAH — Caroline J. Lushinski, 86, formerly of 1375 Trevorton Road, Coal Township, passed away at 12:20 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 25, 2013, at Shenandoah Manor Nursing Center.

She was born in Kulpmont, Nov. 11, 1926, a daughter of the late Vincenzo and Maria Rosa (Marvaso) Gidaro.
She attended school in Kulpmont and was employed at Indian Hills Country Club, where she began working as a waitress and was promoted to manager.
On June 14, 1947, in Kulpmont, Caroline married Edward J. Lushinski, who preceded her in death Jan. 31, 1996.
She was a member of Our Lady of Hope Church, Coal Township.
She was an avid bingo player who played as often as possible.
Surviving are a daughter, Rosetta Schwartz and her husband, Dennis, of Trevorton Road; a son, Vincent and his wife, Shelly, of Elysburg; a brother, Charles Gidaro, of Arizona; three grandchildren, Dennis Schwartz, Jennifer Dormer and Jannelle Morgan, all of Shamokin; three great-grandchildren, Alexander, Lilly and Ella; nieces and nephews, and many friends.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, John, and six siblings.
LUSHINSKI — Caroline J. Lushinski, 86, a resident of Shenandoah Manor Nursing Center, Shenandoah, and formerly of 1375 Trevorton Road, Coal Township. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday at Our Lady of Hope Church, First and Chestnut streets, Coal Township. Relatives and friends are asked to meet at 9:45 a.m. at the church. Following Mass, burial will be in All Saints Cemetery, Bear Gap. Leonard J. Lucas Funeral Home Ltd., 120 S. Market St., Shamokin, has charge of arrangements.
