LIMERICK — Dorothy Elizabeth (Ayers) Green, 100, passed away peacefully in her sleep Saturday, Feb. 22, 2014, surrounded by her family at Season's Hospice, Phoenixville Hospital, Phoenixville.

Born in Mount Carmel, July 12, 1913, she was a daughter of Raymond Henry and Mary A. (Rompolski) Ayers, and she was raised by her stepmother, Jenny (James) Ayers. She resided in the Junction before moving to Royersford and Limerick with her family.

Dorothy was married for 48 years to Thomas F. Green, of Limerick, who preceded her in death in 2002.

She worked for Langis Candy Store and Woolworth's Department Store in Mount Carmel. She also worked for Spring City Knitting Mills in Spring City and was a co-owner of Ye Olde Sweet Shoppe in Collegeville.

She was a member of Grace Reformed Church in Mount Carmel.

Her favorite career was being a homemaker and mother.

She loved to travel with her husband and family, having visited almost all 50 states, and cooking family meals in her home. She was an avid reader and cherished the time she spent with her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

Dorothy is survived by a son, Mark Green and wife, Nancy, of Stowe; three stepchildren, Thomas J. Green, of Perkasie, husband of Nancy Green, who passed away in September 2013, Martha Ann Woelfle and husband, Dean, of Pekin, Ill., and Susan Miller and husband, Richard, of Limerick; a son-in-law, Ronnie Schoudt, of Douglassville, husband of Jane (Getz) Schoudt, who passed away in December 2013; grandchildren, John Green, of Sellersville, Debra Ford and husband, Richard, of Webster, N.Y., Thomas F. Green II and wife, Daria, of Bedford, N.H., Lisa Hazlett, of Philadelphia, Raeann Schoudt, of Douglassville, Jerre Schoudt and wife, Luanne, of Peoria, Ill., Lara Kline and husband, Nate, of Washington, D.C., Ryan Miller and husband, Steve, of Denver, Colo., Stephanie Green and fiance, Eric, of Stowe, and Jereme Green, of Stowe; 14 great-grandchildren, three great-great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband, parents and daughter, she was preceded in death by a brother, Matthew Ayers, and a sister, Agnes (Ayers) Zimmerman.

GREEN — Dorothy Elizabeth (Ayers) Green, 100, of Limerick. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Rothermel Funeral Home, 120 S. Market St., Mount Carmel, with the Rev. Joan Brown officiating. Interment will be held at the Mount Carmel Cemetery. A viewing will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
