Earl Isaac Adams, 87, of Lykens died at his home on Tuesday, March 25, 2014.

He was born October 19, 1926, in Joliett, a son of the late Isaac and Estella Kuntzleman Adams.
He is survived by his wife, Barbara (Harman) Adams of 53 years, whom he married June 10, 1961, and his daughter, Pamela Adams-Campbell, Harrisburg, and her husband Brian and his two grandsons, Bruce and Clark; a sister, Ethel Adams Russell, Lebanon; and four nieces.
He was predeceased by his brother, Bruce C. Adams, Esq.
He was a graduate of Porter Township High School, Reinerton, Class of '44, served as class treasurer. He was a veteran of WWII, serving in the US Navy, Intelligence Unit, stationed at Pearl Harbor, and a Life Member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Post 2385, Gratz.
Earl was a graduate of Muhlenberg College, Class of 1950, where he received his BA in Biology and History. He earned his MA in Education at Bucknell University and began his teaching career at Porter Twp. High School where he taught for 12 years. He retired after 27 years as a respected and well liked teacher, Head of the Social Studies Department at Upper Dauphin Area High School, Elizabethville. He was a member of the Lambda Chi Alpha Fraternity.
He was a member of the Immanuel Methodist Church, Loyalton, serving as Trustee. He delivered the donated groceries to the Upper Dauphin Human Services where he served on the board for many years.
He was a 50 year member of Ashlar Lodge, #570 F&AM, Lykens, a fifty year member of the Harrisburg Consistory, Zembo Shrine, Tall Cedars of Lebanon, Millersburg Forest No 125, Member of the Glen Chapter # 425, Order of the Eastern Star, Lykens.
Funeral services were held Saturday, March 29 from the Calvary United Methodist Church, Pottsville Street, Wiconisco with Revs. David McElwee and Barbara Yorks officiating. Burial with full military honors was in Maple Grove Cemetery, Elizabethville. Masonic services were held Friday evening at the funeral home followed by Eastern Star Services by the Glen Chapter #425.
