BELLEVILLE — Earl Raymond Scheetz, 99, of 1340 W. Pine St., Coal Township, passed away at 4:06 a.m. Friday, April 5, 2013, at Valley View Haven.

He was born in Shamokin, Feb. 10, 1914, a son of Raymond Scheetz and Martha Eby Walborn.
He graduated from Coal Township High School in 1931.
On July 25, 1939, he married Quilla Boyer Wary, who preceded him in death Feb. 18, 1990.
Earl worked as a miner and also in the dye department of the Shamokin Silk Mill, and finally, as a salesman for Jones' Hardware Store until his retirement in 1978.
He is survived by his son, Barry Scheetz and his wife, Carolyn, of Lemont; three grandchildren, William Fuller and his wife, Stephanie, of Trevorton, Matthew Scheetz, of Mercersburg, and Caleb Scheetz and his wife, Callie, of Branford, Conn.; a great-grandson, William Fuller, and a great-granddaughter, Samantha, both of Trevorton.
He was preceded in death by a daughter, Dolores Fuller.
SCHEETZ — Earl Raymond Scheetz, 99, of 1340 W. Pine St., Coal Township. A memorial funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday at Salem United Church of Christ, 1300 W. Pine St., Coal Township, with the Rev. Jean Eckrod presiding. Interment will be in Odd Fellows Cemetery, Trevorton Road. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in the memory of Earl and Quilla Scheetz to Salem United Church of Christ, 1300 W. Pine St., Coal Township 17866. Farrow Funeral Directors, Shamokin, has charge of arrangements.
