Edward Sickora Obituary

SUNBURY — Edward Paul Sickora II, 62, of 102A South Fourth Street, Sunbury, passed away at 10:15 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 7, 2010, at SUN Home Health Hospice at Sunbury Community Hospital.

Ed was born in Danville June 21, 1948, a son of Alberta (Buggy) Sickora, of Coal Township, and Edward P. Sickora, Sr. who preceded him in death on July 6, 2008.

Ed was a graduate of Our Lady of Lourdes Regional High School, Coal Township, and earned his Architectural Degree from The Catholic University of America, Washington, D.C., in 1971.

He founded Sickora R/A, an architectural and design firm he owned and operated, in 1981. Ed was recognized repeatedly at the State and National levels for excellence in design and by the U.S. Department of the Interior for his work on historic buildings.

Ed enjoyed trivia, horseshoes and cooking, but especially loved spending time with his family and friends. He will be remembered for his award winning clam chowder and excessively long jokes.

In addition to Alberta, his loving mother, Ed is survived by a brother and sister-in-law, Joseph and Joyce Sickora; a sister, Mary Ann Sickora; three children, Alana Lambert, Alisa Sickora-Kleckner and her husband Chris, and Edward P. Sickora III; one nephew, Zach Sickora and his wife Angelina, and his soulmate, Sue Morris.

Arch St. at Maple Street, Coal Township, with Reverend Anthony Curran presiding. Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. Thursday until time of Service in the Funeral Home. Private inurnment of his remains will follow in a niche at All Saints Cemetery, Elysburg. Unfortunately, despite all attempts to comply with his final wishes, there will be no Viking Funeral. As an expression of sympathy, the family requests memorial contributions be made to Our Lady of Lourdes School, C/O Development Office, 2001 Clinton Avenue, Coal Township, PA 17866.

Deepest sympathy for your loss. I will miss seeing Ed stop by my place of employment. I was surprised when I found out he was the brother-in-law of a family member (Joyce).
Keeping you all in my thoughts and prayers.

Thanks to Ed for his work in helping to get the Bloomsburg skatepark started. He was one of the first to work with Karen Heaps in getting the site prepared. God Bless!
