ELYSBURG — Eric J. Baskin, 30, of 1918 Old Reading Road, passed away Saturday, March 16, 2013, at home.

Born March 4, 1983, in Ashland, he was a son of Diane M. (Wargo) Baskin, of Paxinos, and the late Daniel A. Baskin.
He was a 2001 graduate of Southern Columbia Jr./Sr. High School and received a degree in automotive technology from ATI in 2003.
He was most recently employed with Baskin Contracting and Construction as a project manager, and also worked on cars.
He was of the Catholic faith and was a member of the NRA. He enjoyed working on cars, building street rods, hanging out with his family and friends, shooting pool, target shooting, model airplanes, remote controlled cars and working on tractors.
Surviving are his grandfather, Luther Baskin, of Paxinos; his mother, Diane Baskin and her companion, David Berkheiser, of Paxinos; a brother, Shawn Baskin and his wife, Jess, of Mount Carmel; a sister, Danielle Yost, and her husband Brian, of Norristown; an uncle, Joseph Wargo, and his wife, Deborah, of Shamokin; an aunt Barbara Machuzak and her husband, Mike, of Marion Heights; cousins Joe Wargo and his wife, Jen, of Texas, Timothy Wargo, of Atlas, and Steven Machuzak, of Marion Heights; his stepmother, Karen Baskin, of Pottsville; a stepbrother, Ryan Setlock and his wife, Stacey, of Barnesville; a stepsister, Jill Hosler and her husband, Tyler, of Pottsville; a niece, Holly Hosler, and a nephew Wyatt Hosler, and other cousins.
In addition to his father, Daniel Baskin, he was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Josephine and Joseph Wargo and his parental grandmother, Marion Baskin.
BASKIN — Eric J. Baskin, 30, of 1918 Old Reading Road, Elysburg. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday in the C.J. Lucas Funeral Home, Inc., 1053 Chestnut St., Kulpmont, C.J. Lucas, supervisor, with the Rev. Al Sceski officiating. Burial will be in All Saints Cemetery, Bear Gap. Viewing will be held from 10 a.m. until the time of the service Friday in the funeral home.
