SHAMOKIN — Gail D. Weimer, 70, of 329 S. Diamond St., Shamokin, rose with the sun to meet her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, Aug. 27, 2013, surrounded by her loving family.

Born in Patterson, N.J., Sept. 14, 1942, she was the only child of the late Elery and Edith (Wetzel) Altemose.

On March 30, 1963, Gail was united in marriage to Robert F. Weimer, who survives.

She was most recentlyemployed as a home health aide for Family Home Medical before retiring three years ago.

She was of the Protestant faith and was a devoted member of the Mountainside Assembly of God Church, where she played piano and sang in the choir.

Gail enjoyed spending quality time with her family and friends, going to the beach, reading, helping others, ministering to many and golfing. She will be sadly missed by all whose lives she touched with her loving heart.

Surviving in addition to her husband of 50 years, Robert, are three daughters, Dawn Weimer and her friend, Janet Valentin, of Coal Township, Kyle and Brian Jeremiah, of Shamokin Township, and Jodi and Shawn Britton, of Shamokin; nine grandchildren, Wendy (Weimer) Swinehart, Jacob and Emma Jeremiah, Alyssa, Michael, Joshua, Devin, Nicholas and Ryan Britton, and a great-grandson, Cayden Swinehart.

A daughter, Elizabeth Jane, who was born still, preceded her in death.


WEIMER — Gail D. Weimer, 70, of 329 S. Diamond St., Shamokin. A memorial service for family and close friends will be held at 6 p.m. Sunday at Mountainside Assembly of God Church, Coal Township. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that monetary donations be made in Gail's memory to Mountainside Assembly of God Church, 1900 Trevorton Road, Coal Township 17866. Funeral arrangements were entrusted to James Kelley Funeral Home, James F. Kelley, director, 1001 W. Arch St. at Maple Street, Coal Township.
