MOUNT CARMEL — Harold "Boots" Bucher Jr., 71, of 144 Merriam St., passed away Wednesday, Nov. 21, 2012, at home, surrounded by his loved ones.
Born in Ashland, Feb. 5,1941, he was a son of the late Harold and Anna (Burger) Bucher.
Harold worked as a welder at ACF in Milton until his retirement.
He was a member of the First United Methodist-Presbyterian Church, Ashland.
He was also a member of Shamokin Lodge No. 255 F&AM, Royal Arch Chapter No. 264 and the Shamokin Council No. 68. In 2008, he was commander of Shamokin Commandery No. 77. He was a lifetime member of the Good Fellowship Club, Ashland, and the Broad Mount Archery Club in Fountain Springs.
Boots was an avid hunter and fisherman and could be found in his garage. In his younger years he could be found on a race track.
Surviving are his wife of 52 years, Alice (Mincavage) Bucher; four daughters, Sandra Riedel, and her husband, Mark, of Deer Lake, Terral Christopher, and her husband, Curtis, of Hampstead, Md., Sheila Bloschichak, and her husband, Nicholas, of Hanover, and Candida Rupinski, and her husband, Michael, of Lemoyne; seven grandchildren, Kristina, Danielle, Christopher, Allison, Rebekah, Jakob and Olevia; two great-grandchildren, Madalynn and Gabriel; a sister, Debra Bucher; a brother, James Bucher, and nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, a brother, Wade, preceded him in death.

BUCHER — Harold "Boots" Bucher Jr., 71, of 144 Merriam St., Mount Carmel. A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday at the Kull-Heizenroth Funeral Home, Ashland, with the Rev. Susan Roehs officiating. Viewing will be from 9 to 11 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home. A Masonic service will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday. Interment will be in Christ Church Cemetery, Fountain Springs. Memorial contributions can be made to the Hillside SPCA, P.O. Box 233, Pottsville 17901. The Kull-Heizenroth Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
