SHAMOKIN — Harry Davis, 90, of 307 S. Diamond St., passed away at 9:54 p.m. Tuesday, March 19, 2013, at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.

He was a resident of Shamokin for the past 14 years.

Harry was born in Monroe Township, N.J., on May 5, 1922, a son of the late Ethel (Frake) and John Davis.

On Sept. 12, 1941, in Cranberry, N.J., he married Stella H. (Kelich) Davis, who preceded him in death March 5, 2005.

He worked as a mechanic at Forsgate Farms, Jamesville, N.J.

An avid fisherman and rabbit hunter, Mr. Davis was a member of the Forsgate Rod and Gun Club, N.J. He also was a breeder of beagles.

He developed a love for the land as a young man growing up on a farm, and it continued in his older years with his gardening. Most of his produce was given away to family and friends.

He enjoyed going to auction sales and, as a mechanic by trade, he enjoyed tinkering with old cars.

Harry is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, William and Colleen Davis, of Monroe Township, N.J.; a sister, Marion Davis, of Lawrenceville, N.J.; a daughter-in-law, Sandra Davis, of Susquehanna, 17 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by two sons, Harry E. Davis and John Davis; a daughter, Maryann Titus, and two sisters, Clara Skillman and Marjorie Davis.
