WOODBRIDGE, Va. — Helen C. York, 93, formerly of 147 S. Chestnut St., Mount Carmel, died Saturday, May 11, 2013, at Envoy Nursing Home, Woodbridge, Va.

Born in Mount Carmel, Oct. 4, 1919, she was a daughter of the late John and Angela (Kotarski) Dombroski.

Helen was educated in MOC School and was a resident of Mount Carmel until 1997 when she moved to Virginia to reside with her daughter and family.

On March 3, 1943, in Our Mother of Consolation Church, Mount Carmel, she was married to Alfred York, who preceded her in death in 1976.

She was employed in the local garment factories.

She was a former member of St. Joseph's Church, now Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Council of Catholic Women, Rambler's Club, Altar Rosary Society and the Legion of Mary.

Survivors include two daughters, Roseann Taylor and her husband, Warren, of Beltsville, Md., and Mary Alice Combs and her husband, Jacob, of Woodbridge; three grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; two brothers, Frank Dombroski, of Gweynedd Valley, and Norbert Dombroski, of Mount Carmel; one sister, Sylvia Bender, of Philadelphia, as well as nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by five sisters, Stella Stanavage, Mildred Coffey, Dorothy Bugler, Rita Zielinski and Beatrice Dombroski; two brothers, Robert and John Dombroski, and a grandson, David Combs.

YORK — Helen C. York, 93, formerly of 147 S. Chestnut St., Mount Carmel. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:30 a.m. Friday at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, 47 S. Market St., Mount Carmel, with the Rev. Francis Karwacki officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Mount Carmel Township. A viewing will be held from 9 to 11 a.m. Friday, with vigil prayers at 10:30 a.m., at C.J. Lucas Funeral Home Inc., 27 N. Vine St., Mount Carmel, C.J. Lucas IV, supervisor.
