COAL TOWNSHIP — Irene Furdalewicz, 70, a resident of Mountain View: A Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, and formerly of 101 N. Ash St., passed away at 9:50 a.m., Monday, Dec. 10, 2012, at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.

Born Jan. 25, 1942, in Excelsior, she was a daughter of the late Sally (Suchonic) and John Horoshock.

Irene attended Transfiguration Ukrainian Catholic School, Shamokin.

On Oct. 24, 1964, in Shamokin, she married Robert J. "Flash" Furdalewicz, who preceded her in death on June 5, 2009.

Irene was of the Catholic faith and was a homemaker.

She cherished all the times she spent with her husband before he passed away. They loved being in each other's company, whether they were swinging on the swing at the Coal Township High Rise or participating in various activities. She also enjoyed spending time with her daughters and grandchildren.

Surviving are two daughters, Deb, wife of Tim Ponatoski, of Irish Valley, and Michelle Furdalewicz, of Shamokin; three grandchildren, Ashley, Gregory and Olivia, and a sister, Ann Olbrish, of Kulpmont.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Johnny, Vince and Walter and a sister, Millie.

FURDALEWICZ — Irene Furdalewicz, 70, a resident of Mountain View: A Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, and formerly of 101 N. Ash St., Coal Township. A Religious funeral service will be held at noon Thursday at the James Kelley Funeral Home, 1001 W. Arch St. at Maple St., Coal Township. with the Rev, Sam Bellavia, pastor of Christian and Missionary Alliance Church, officiating. Interment will follow the service at All Saints Cemetery, Elysburg. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until the time of the service Thursday at the funeral home. As an expression of sympathy, the family requests memorial contributions be made to Christian and Missionary Alliance Church Benevolent Fund, 114 N. Second St., Shamokin, PA 17872.
