My kind friend, may The Lord take care of you as well as you did the children of Bethany.

Jim was a great friend to me when I was just getting started in ministry. His office was always open to me, and our talks were stimulating and inspiring. He delivered the Gospel reading at my installation service at Hill UCC, Lebanon. He did not read it. He told the story with passion and warmth.
The last time I saw Jim was on September 26 when I visited Bethany on a Sunday morning. Jim's preaching, despite his physical limitations, was inspiring, Spirit-filled. Visiting with him after the service recharged my spiritual batteries. I will miss Jim very much.

Rev. Jim, You will be missed. I am sure you are in heaven and were greeted by 2 former Bethany young ladies whose funeral sevices you conducted. You and I did not expect to be doing funeral services at Bethany during our time there.
