COAL TOWNSHIP — Jeffery "Whitey" J. Whitenight, 46, of Coal Township, died unexpectedly Friday, Dec. 20, 2013, at his home.

He was born June 29, 1967, in Bloomsburg, a son of Thomas Sr. and Barbara (Roeder) Whitenight, of Catawissa.
"Whitey" was a 1986 graduate of Southern Columbia Area High School.
He worked for 19 years at Magee Carpet Co. and was presently employed as a health care aide with Shared Support in Shamokin.
"Whitey" was known for his great sense of humor and loved singing, especially country music. He also enjoyed hunting and fishing.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by two brothers, Thomas Whitenight Jr. and his wife, Cheryl, and Robby Whitenight; a sister, Jennifer Marks and her husband, Jerry; three nephews, Blake Marks, Gage and Kaiden Whitenight, and a niece, Morgan Marks, all of Catawissa.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Robert and Mae Roeder, and paternal grandparents, Glen and Pauline Whitenight.
