DANVILLE — Joanne L. Stabinski, 80, formerly of 40 N. Oak St., passed Sunday, May 5, 2013, at Grandview Health Homes.

Born May 23, 1932, in Ashland, she was a daughter of the late John and Frances (Levitski) Lapinski. She was a lifelong resident of Mount Carmel.
Joanne was a 1950 graduate of Mount Carmel High School and received a bachelor's degree in business administration from Drexel University.
On Nov. 19, 1960, in Our Mother of Consolation Church, Mount Carmel she married Raymond A. Stabinski, who preceded her in death on Oct. 25, 1996.
She was owner/operator of a chain of stores including the Smart Shop.
She was a former member of Our Mother of Consolation Church, now Divine Redeemer Church of Mount Carmel.
Surviving are her children, Dr. Raymond Stabinski and his wife, Catherine, and their sons, Raymond, Nathan and Michael, of Poland, Ohio, John Stabinski and his wife, Linda, and their children, Madelyn and John, of Catawissa, and Mary Jo Stabinski-Heckman and her husband, Daemon, of Norristown.
