SHAMOKIN — John Anthony Polan, 58, 410 N. Shamokin St., was pronounced dead in his apartment at 11:45 a.m. Friday March 22, 2013. He died suddenly.

He was born in Shamokin, Oct. 24, 1954, a son of John Peter and Mildred Elizabeth Surazenski Polan.

He was a 1974 graduate of Shamokin High School.

He had worked as a laborer and as a trash hauler, and at Allen Clark's Poultry.

John is survived by two sisters, Mildren Conrad and her husband, Dennis, of Sunbury, and Jolene Haas and her husband, Glen, of Irish Valley; a brother, David T. Polan and his wife, Barbara, of Sunbury, and several nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and grand-nephews.

He was preceded in death by a brother, James F. Polan, and a sister, Sue Ellen Polan.

POLAN — John Anthony Polan, 58, 410 N. Shamokin St., Shamokin. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Our Lady of Hope Church, Coal Township, with the Rev. Adrian Gallagher officiating.
