TREVORTON — John M. Foieri, 80, of 349 E. Market St., passed away Tuesday, April 29, 2014, at his residence surrounded by his loving family.

Born May 9, 1933, in Shamokin, he was the son of the late Modest and Thelma (Haddock) Foieri
He attended Shamokin schools and graduated in 1952 from Valley Forge Military Academy with various achievements.
On Feb. 14, 1953, he married the former Margie Klinger, who preceded him in death June 1, 2000.
John was owner/operator of Zerbe Ready Mix Concrete in Trevorton and manager of the Trevorton Water Company for 30 years. He retired from AMP Inc., in Selinsgrove.
He received numerous achievement awards throughout the years and was greatly involved within the community. He served three terms as lieutenant governor of Kiwanis, served as president of the Salvation Army Calvary, was co-chairman of the board of directors for Shamokin Area Community Hospital and Shamokin Area Industrial Corporation, was active with The American Heart Association, and was a member of the Line Mountain 4 Wheelers and EC4WDA.
John enjoyed camping and spending time with his family, especially watching them race at the EC4WDA races.
He is survived by a son and daughter in-law, John L. and Lavonne Foieri; two granddaughters, Jennifer and Larry Keim and Tia Foieri and Scott Forney; five great-grandchildren, Caitlin, Cortney and Colton Keim and John Colby and Chloe Reidinger; and four sisters, Jackie Tharp, Jeannette Witmer, Jean Reed and Judy Sodrick.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Betty Castantini, and his companion, Renee Apichell.
