MOUNT CARMEL — John M. Kuzo III, 54, of 340 S. Chestnut St., passed away at 4:25 a.m. Friday, March 1, 2013, at Geisinger-Shamokin Area Community Hospital, Coal Township.

He was born Aug. 13, 1958, at Geisinger Hospital, Danville, a son of John M. Kuzo and the late Dorothy (Tarlecky) Zazula, who passed away in 2007. He was a lifelong resident of Mount Carmel.

John was a 1977 graduate of Mount Carmel Area High School.

He was engaged to Anette Yodis, with whom he resided.

He was a professional motocross racer before working for Kuzo Brothers Ford in Atlas. He last worked for Pine Grove Homes.

He was a member of the VFW, Mount Carmel.

John was an avid motocross enthusiast, NASCAR fan, and enjoyed his fish tank and his dog, Jimmy.

In addition to his father and his father's wife, Elaine Kuzo, of Den Mar Gardens, and fiance, John is survived by two sons, John M. Kuzo IV, of Kulpmont, and Nicholas Kuzo, of Elysburg; a granddaughter, Kenleigh Kuzo; his paternal grandmother, Helen Kuzo, of Atlas; a stepbrother, Jed Karpinsky and his wife, Tammy, of Lancaster; a stepsister, Kerra Domboski and her husband, Todd, of Mount Carmel, and uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by a stepbrother, Jeffery Karpinsky, and a brother, Baby John Kuzo.

KUZO — John M. Kuzo III, 54, of 340 S. Chestnut St., Mount Carmel. Funeral rites in church for the Christian faithful will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at SS Peter and Paul Ukrainian Catholic Church, Mount Carmel, with the Very Rev. Archpriest Michael Hutsko officiating. Burial will be in SS Peter and Paul Cemetery, Mount Carmel Township. Viewing will be from 9 to 10:45 a.m. Wednesday in the C.J. Lucas Funeral Home, 27 N. Vine St., Mount Carmel, C.J. Lucas IV, supervisor. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to SS Peter and Paul Church, 131 N.
