MOUNT CARMEL — Josephine J. Griscavage, 79, of Mount Carmel, went to be with the angels in Heaven Monday April 27, 2015, at the Mountain View: A Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Coal Township.
She was born in Marion Heights Dec. 16, 1935, a daughter of the late John and Sophia (Slaby) Griscavage. She was a graduate of Mount Carmel High School, where she was Field Day Queen and was a majorette.
She was formerly employed at Ann's Restaurant, Mount Carmel, and Grandview Nursing Home, Danville. She was a former member of St. Joseph's Church, Mount Carmel. She was a member of the Polish Women's Alliance, the Rambler's Club and the Lucky 15 Club of Mount Carmel. She enjoyed bingo, crafts and visits with her four granddaughters, Tara, Missy, Brianna and Kayla, who she loved and cared for very much.
She is survived by a daughter, Cheryl Tanney, who loved her very much, and her son-in-law, Bill Tanney, of Mount Carmel. Also surviving are her four granddaughters, Tara Tanney, of Mount Carmel; Melissa Tanney, of Coal Township; Brianna Tanney, of Coal Township, and Kayla Tanney, of Mount Carmel, aunts; uncle; cousins, and friends, by whom she will be sadly missed.
She was preceded in death by a sister, Roseeanne Griscavage; paternal grandparents, Vincent and Anna Griscavage, and her maternal grandparents, Bart and Anna Slaby.

GRISCAVAGE — Josephine J. Griscavage, 79, of Mount Carmel. A memorial Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Friday at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Mount Carmel, followed by interment in St Joseph's Cemetery, Mount Carmel. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the Jerre Wirt Blank Funeral Home, 395 State St., Sunbury.
