COAL TOWNSHIP — Judith Ann "Judy" Stank, 71, of 1710 Webster St., passed away Thursday, Feb. 14, 2013, at her home.

She was born Aug. 24, 1941, in New York City, a daughter of the late Augusta and Mildred (Staveckas) Esparza.

Judy went to Holy Cross Grade School and graduated from Mount Carmel Catholic High School.

On July 1, 1961, in Holy Cross Church, Mount Carmel, she married Philip R. Stank, who survives.

She had worked at the former Shamokin and Wilson Shoe Factories. She also was employed at the East End Fire Company in Coal Township, until her retirement.

She was a member of the East End Fire Company, Coal Township, St. Francis Home Association, Shamokin, Knights of Columbus, Shamokin, and Brady Fire Company, Ranshaw.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by a son, Michael Stank and his beautiful fiance, Pam Bollinger, of Coal Township; a grandson, whom she loved deeply, Robert Philip Stank, of Mount Carmel; a stepbrother, John Elguicze, of California; a sister-in-law, Joanne Shook, of Raleigh, N.C., and two very dear and devoted cousins, Marian Delaney and Mary Ann Persavage.

She was preceded in death by three loving aunts who raised her, Mamie, Cathy and Ellie Staveckas; a devoted cousin, Bob Delaney; a daughter, Carol Ann Stank, and a son, Philip Robert Stank.

STANK — Judith Ann "Judy" Stank, 71, of 1710 Webster St., Coal Township. A religious service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, with the Rev. Robert Potts officiating, at the Joseph J. Stutz Inc., Funeral Home, 40 S. Market St., Mount Carmel, Joseph J. Stutz III, supervisor. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, Mount Carmel Township. Viewing will be from 9 a.m. until the time of the service at the funeral home.
