KULPMONT — Beloved wife and mother, Kathleen M. "Kudgie" York, 75, of 532 Pine St., died suddenly Monday, May 5, 2014, at her residence.

She was born in Kulpmont, Dec. 21, 1938, a daughter of the late Charles A. and Catherine (Schaller) Bressi.

Kathleen was a 1956 graduate of Mount Carmel Catholic High School, and received an associate degree as a clinical lab technician from Ashland State General Hospital in 1987.

She is survived by her husband of 56 years, Robert C. York, whom she married April 7, 1958, in St. Mary's Church, Kulpmont.

Kathleen was a lifelong resident of Kulpmont, and was formerly employed as a lab technician for Dennis Mychak, M.D., and also a kindergarten teacher at St. Mary's BVM School.

She was a member of the Church of the Holy Angels, where she also served as an extraordinary minister of the eucharist.

Kathleen loved to cook and spend time with her family and grandchildren who were truly her pride and joy.

In addition to her husband, Robert, she is survived by three children, Robert C. York Jr. and his wife, Deborah, of Highspire, Janine Owen and her fiancé, John Scudder, of Harrisburg, and Dane York Sr., of Kulpmont, and Theresa York, of Shamokin; four grandchildren, Erin York, Colin York, Jim Owen and Dane York Jr.; a brother, Charles A. Bressi Jr. and his wife, Lynn, of Pottsville, and their children, Amy and Sara.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Theresa Ibanez, of Hazzard, Ky.

YORK — Kathleen M. York, 75, of 532 Pine St., Kulpmont. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 a.m. Friday at Church of the Holy Angels, 855 Scott St., Kulpmont, with the Rev. Andrew Stahmer as celebrant. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Kulpmont. Viewings will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. Thursday with the rosary at 8 p.m., and from 9 to 10:45 a.m. Friday at the C.J. Lucas Funeral Home Inc., 1053 Chestnut St., Kulpmont, C.J. Lucas, supervisor. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to , P.O.
