She was born in Danville, Feb. 12, 1959, the first-born daughter of the late William and Margaret (Campton) Hoy. She was a native of Shamokin and lived there until moving to Florida.
Laurie attended St. Edward's School and Our Lady of Lourdes High School.
She was a manager at Walmart in Vero Beach.
She enjoyed traveling, with her most recent trip to Ireland with her brother and nephew. She was involved with charitable work with underprivileged children.
Surviving are a son, Chad Tamkus and his wife, Erin; three grandchildren whom she adored, Ashley, Zack and Austin, and three brothers, Bill, Tim and Brian Hoy. In addition to her immediate family, she cherished time spent with her nieces and nephews, Josh, Matthew, Tyler, Riley, Madison, Ethan, Kaligh and Jillian Hoy.
She also held close and often visited her relatives and friends in Pennsylvania, where she made many trips to her favorite places to eat — James' Pizza, Mattucci's, Nash's Bakery for sticky buns and Coney Island, to name a few. No trip was complete until she hit them all up.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Matthew Hoy.
Till we meet again, may the peace and joy of eternal life forever be yours!
