ELYSBURG — Leroy "Buster" Billman, 89, of Fisherdale Road, died at his home Friday, July 5, 2013. He had been in failing health for the past three weeks.

He was born in Cleveland Township, May 4, 1924, a son of the late Roy and Grace Duty Billman.
Leroy was a farmer all his life, working the family land. He also worked for Shamrock Mills as a truck driver, retiring in the late 1960s due to his health.
He enjoyed fishing, gardening, hunting, going to the Bloomsburg Fair, flowers, food and winning lots of ribbons for "best of show." He was independent, honest, liked to do things his way, loved Christmas, and was a good provider; family was very important to him.
Surviving are his wife, the former Ruth Bittner, with whom he had observed their 69th wedding anniversary May 21, 2013. He also is survived by three sons, David Billman and his wife, Cindy, Roger Billman and his wife, Jamie, and Michael Billman and his wife, Mary Ann, all of Elysburg; four daughters, Sandra Whispell and her husband, William, of Fernville, Julie Davenport and her companion, Tom Arnold, of Bloomsburg, Jeannie Leaver, of Allentown, and Pamela McDonald and her husband, Anthony, of Espy; 12 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren, and a sister, Doris Quenten, of Elysburg.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Daniel Leaver, and sisters Catherine Yoder and Larue Linn.
BILLMAN — Leroy "Buster" Billman, 89, of Fisherdale Road, Elysburg. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, July 20 at the Allen R. Horne Funeral Home, 193 McIntyre Road, Catawissa, with the Rev. Chris Dunlop, hospice chaplain, officiating. Burial will be at the convenience of the family. Contributions in his memory may be made to Columbia-Montour Home Hospice, 410 Glen Ave., Bloomsburg 17815.
