ELYSBURG — Lester A. Yocum, 85, of 2176 Reading Turnpike, passed away at 3:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 22, 2013, at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.

He was born in Elysburg, June 12, 1927, a son of the late Solomon and Margaret (Kase) Yocum.

He attended schools in Elysburg.

He served as a corporal in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.

Lester was married Dec. 17, 1955, to the former Arlene Satonak, who survives.

He worked for Merck in Riverside.

He was a member of St. John's Luthern Church, Danville.

He loved hunting and fishing.

In addition to his wife, Lester is survived by a son, Tim Yocum, of Northumberland; a granddaughter, Courtney Yocum, of Las Vegas, and a sister, Eleanor Renner.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, George and Donald.

YOCUM — Lester A. Yocum, 85, of 2176 Reading Turnpike, Elysburg. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Ray W. Rothermel Funeral Home, 389 W. Valley Ave., Elysburg, with Deacon Robert Gurske and the Rev. Bruce Amme officiating. Interment will be held in All Saints' Cemetery, Bear Gap. A viewing will be held from 9 to 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the donor's .
