MOUNT CARMEL — Loretta Ann Victoria "Kippy" (Kovalovich) Snyder, 64, of 224 E. Seventh St., went home to be with the Lord and her family at 9:46 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 6, 2012, at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville, after a courageous four-year battle with liver disease.
The Guest Book is expired.
On a beautiful day, Sept. 5, 1948, Loretta came into this world as the "spitfire" third child of the late John and Loretta (Schetroma) Kovalovich. Reared in Atlas throughout her childhood, she moved to and live in Mount Carmel until her death. "Kippy," as everyone knew her, grew up a happy-go-lucky girl. Loving, kind and giving of herself all the time is what she did best.
On Sept. 9, 1969, she married her true love, Robert Snyder, and raised two children.
Loretta attended Mount Carmel Area High School.
She was employed at the Shamokin Shoe Factory, Twin Spruce Boarding Home, Family Medical, and her final job as a PCA (personal care assistant), Serenity Gardens in Kulpmont, for the past 12 years. Loretta loved her job and her residents, as she did her family. She will be truly missed by everyone whose lives she touched. She is best known for her caring and charismatic disposition. If Serenity was decorated, Loretta did it.
Loretta was a beautiful and wonderful wife, mother, sister and friend.
She leaves to celebrate her life her husband, Robert, of 43 years; a son, Eric, and his wife, Heather, and their children, Austin and Vanessa, of Ringtown; a daughter, Kelly Hudick and her children, Jordan, Lauren and Isabella, of Mount Carmel; eight nieces, Melissa, Lisa K., Beth, Danielle, Gabrielle, Nicole, Tanya and Lisa Z.; six nephews, Jon, Jeffrey, Daniel, Jim and Jeremy W. and Jeremy B; great nieces and nephews, Malibu, Addison, Aiden, Luciano Brady, Mallory, Anthony, Cooper and Liam; two special extended sisters, Brenda and Jackie; brothers and sisters, Tony Kovalovich, of Allentown, Theresa and David Walter, of Mount Carmel, Diane and Anthony Dallazia, of Marion Heights, and Mary Ann and Thomas Zosh, of Mount Carmel; a sister-in-law, Shirley Guyer, and her husband, Eugene, of Mifflinburg, numerous cousins and many children with whom she came in contact with over the past 40 years. If you had the honor of knowing "Kippy," you knew the best.
Rest, dear wife, mother, sister and friend, your work is finished, love God and your family and watch over us.
Loretta was preceded in death by her parents, grandparents, mother-in-law, Lillian Snyder, and a sister-in-law, Virginia Kovalovich.
