Martha A. Bechtel, 90, formerly of Loyalton and Lykens, died Wednesday, Oct. 30, 2013 at The Manor At Susquehanna Village, Millersburg.

She was born November 8, 1922 in Lykens, a daughter of the late Henry and Florence Grimm Trumpeter. She was the wife of the late Edward E. Bechtel, and was also preceded in death by three sisters, Mary Maiden, Sarah Kinsey, Anna Hart and a brother, Louis Trumpeter.
Martha attended the former St. Mary's Catholic High School and was a member of Our Lady Help of Christians Church both of Lykens. She also enjoyed cooking and baking for her family and friends.
She is survived by a son, Edward L. Bechtel and his wife Linda, of Loyalton; two sisters, Louise Breit and Christine Unger; two grandchildren, Kim Rothermel and her husband Eric, and Amy Cassell and her husband Seth; four great grandchildren, Sarah and Kate Rothermel and Zane and Ayla Cassell.
Mass of Christian burial was celebrated Monday, Nov. 4, at her church, 732 Main St., Lykens with Father C. Anthony Miller as celebrant. Inurnment was in Maple Grove Cemetery, Elizabethville.

John R. Shultz Funeral Home, Lykens was in charge of the arrangements.
