SHAMOKIN — Matthew Bernard Crowl, 39, of 154 Red Hill Lane, passed away at his residence Friday, April 26, 2013.

He was born in Sunbury Hospital, June 18, 1973, a son of Rex and Linda Sue (Maerkl) Crowl.

He graduated from Southern Columbia Area High School in 1992 and later attended WTTI Welding School.

Matthew was married Oct. 31, 1997, to the former Alicia Maire Dorkoski, who preceded him in death Feb. 27, 2005.

He worked as a self-employed welder.

He was of the Protestant faith.

Matthew was active in Southern Columbia Football Alumni Association, Ralpho Youth Sports and the NRA.

In addition to his parents, Matthew is survived by two sons, Kessler and Kurt Crowl, at home; a brother, Mark Crowl and his wife, Glenna; a cousin, Michael Moore, and three nephews, Michael and Matthew Moore and Nate Crowl.

CROWL — Matthew Bernard Crowl, 37, of 154 Red Hill Lane, Shamokin. A memorial service will be held at 8 p.m. Tuesday at Farrow Funeral Home, 240 W. Chestnut St., Shamokin, with the Rev. Paul Gurba officiating. A visitation with the family will be from 6 to 8 p.m. before the services Tuesday.
