PAXINOS — Maxine Kehler, 52, of 1392 Mountain Road, Paxinos, passed away at 2 p.m. Wednesday, April 17, 2013, while surrounded by loving family at her residence. Maxine fought hard, but unfortunately lost her 15-month battle with cancer.

She was born in Sunbury, on March 18, 1961, a daughter of Catherine (Haas) and Melvin Kerstetter, of Gowen City.
She graduated from Shamokin Area High School in 1979.
On Jan. 24, 2007, in Jamaica, she married Robert Kehler, who survives. Maxine and Bob had a loving bond together for the past 21 years.
She was of the Protestant faith.
Maxine was a loving and proud "Grammy" of her four grandchildren and was fond of her Labrador, Gunner. She enjoyed attending Penn State Nittany Lion football games.
She owned M&M Trucking and was a homemaker.
In addition to Bob, her loving and devoted husband, and her parents, Maxine is survived by a daughter, Deana Scandle; a son, Bob Scandle, and his wife, Karen; two stepchildren, Christian Kehler and Kendall Kehler; four grandchildren, Matt, Chryssa and Nikolas Kehler and Colby Bixler; two sisters, Mary Komara and her husband, Dave, and Peggy Stover; a brother, Stoker Kerstetter and his wife, Jodi; a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Jeff and Lori Kehler, numerous nieces, nephews and friends.
She was preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Melvin and Lillian Kerstetter, and maternal grandparents, Oley and Agnes Haas.
KEHLER — Maxine Kehler, 52, of 1392 Mountain Road, Paxinos. A religious funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at James Kelley Funeral Home, 1001 W. Arch St. at Maple Street, Coal Township, with the Rev. David Butler officiating. Friends are invited to call at the visitation 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
