Michael Ondus Obituary

COAL TOWNSHIP — Michael R. Ondus Jr., 83, of West Spruce Street, Coal Township, passed away at his home Sunday, April 26, 2015.

Born Sept. 30, 1931, in Shamokin, he was a son of the late Michael Ondus Sr. and the late Helen M. (Patrick) Ondus. He graduated from Coal Township High School and went on to become a computer programmer for Carteret Savings and Loan, Parsippany, N.J.

Michael served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.

Michael was of the Catholic faith and was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Club of Union City, N.J. He was also a member of the American Legion.

He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Michelle and David Rodriguez, of East Rutherford, N.J., and two grandsons, Michael and Matthew.

ONDUS — Michael R. Ondus Jr., 83, of West Spruce Street, Coal Township. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation to offer condolences to the family from 8:30 to 10 a.m. Wednesday in the Leonard J. Lucas Funeral Home Ltd., 120 S. Market St., Shamokin. A funeral service will be conducted in the funeral home at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Steven Friener of Our Lady of Hope Church, as officiant. Burial will follow in All Saints Cemetery, Elysburg.
