POTTSVILLE -Mildred E. Kennedy, 95, a former Gorden resident, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 11, 2018, at Providence Place, Pottsville.

She was born in Putnam, Connecticut, a daughter of the late William and Edna Dietz Schauer.

She was a graduate of Vineland High School, class of 1940.

Mildred was an active member of the Simpson United Methodist Church, Gordon, participating in Bible study and craft bazaars.

She is survived by a son, Alfred. R. Kennedy Jr. and his wife, Ellie, of Gordon; two daughters, Marlene Koons and her husband, Howard, of California; and Diane Hamburg and her husband, James, of Florida; a brother, William Schauer and his wife, Barbara, of Florida; six grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, five great-great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Alfred R. Kennedy Sr., Feb. 20, 2005; and a son, Richard Kennedy, Nov. 12, 1983; and sisters, Ethel Raywood and Edna O'Connell.

KENNEDY - Mildred E. Kennedy. 95, of Gordon. Relatives and friends are invited to a memorial funeral service at 11 a.m. Simpson United Methodist Church, Gordon, Saturday. Susan Hocking will be officiating. Calling hour will begin at 10 a.m. until the time of the service. Private interment will be in the Christ Church Cemetery, Fountain Springs.
