OCEAN VIEW, Del. — Raymond J. Novakoski, 77, of Ocean View, Del., and formerly of Pasadena, Md., passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family Thursday, April 30, 2015, at his home.
Ray was born March 3, 1938, in Kulpmont, a son of the late Ignatius and Anna (Bajako) Novakoski.
Ray served as a sergeant in the U.S. Air Force after graduating from high school, proudly serving his country from 1955 to 1959.
After Ray was honorably discharged from military service, he began his 33-year career with the National Security Agency, retiring from the federal government in 1993.
Ray was an avid Baltimore Orioles and Ravens fan and loved all things sports. He will be forever remembered as a loving husband, father and grandfather.
He is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Jeannette E. (Staniewski) Novakoski; a son, Paul R. Novakoski and his wife, Carolyn, of Bangor, Maine; a daughter, Christine A. Novakoski, of Ocean View, Del.; and four grandchildren, Nathan, Conor, Duncan and Tristan Novakoski.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Edward Novakoski.

A committal service will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday in the chapel at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 26669 Patriots Way, Millsboro, Del. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions in Ray's name be made to Compassionate Care Hospice, 28467 DuPont Blvd., Suite 6, Millsboro, Del., 19966.
