CATAWISSA — Regina M. "Jean" Litwhiler, 88, of Ringtown Mountain Road, died early Wednesday morning, Dec. 5, 2012, at Geisinger Medical Center, Danville.

Born Nov. 13, 1924, in Mt. Carmel, she was a daughter of the late Boleslaw and Anna Truszkowka Kaminski.
She was a homemaker who worked for several years at the former Emenee Shirt Factory, in Catawissa.
She was a member of Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church, Slabtown, and was very active in the church when she was younger.
Jean loved to garden, cook and crochet, and she adored her grandchildren. Jean was easy to love and became everyone's Mam.
She was a devoted and loving mother and grandmother.
Jean is survived by a son, Troy Litwhiler, and his wife, Ruthanne, of Catawissa; a daughter, Mary Jean Maciejewski, of Bloomsburg; 5 grandchildren, Troy Litwhiler, of Pottsville, Jason Maciejewski, and his wife, Inga, and Shawn Litwhiler, all of Catawissa, Lt. Joshua Maciejewski, and his wife, Brianna, of Norwich Conn., and Jeremy Maciejewski, of Boston, Mass., and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Troy C. Litwhiler, who died in 1982, ending a marital span of 38 years; five brothers; John, Ray, Joseph, Frank and Walter Kaminski (who died somewhere in the Pacific during World War II), and four sisters, Helen Ecker, Stella Radzievich, Bernice Zacker and Elsie Kaminski. Jean is the last surviving member of her immediate family.
LITWHILER — Regina M. "Jean" Litwhiler, 88, of Ringtown Mountain Road, Catawissa. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 10 a.m. Saturday at Our Lady of Mercy Roman Catholic Church, Slabtown, with the Rev. Thomas Mannion as celebrant. Burial will be in All Staints Cemetery, Bear Gap. Visitation for friends will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at the Allen R. Horne Funeral Home, 193 McIntyre Road, Catawissa.
