COAL TOWNSHIP — Roger R. Elliott, 63, of 352 Hillside Ave., Elysburg, died unexpectedly Saturday, Nov. 24, 2012, at Geisinger-Shamokin Area Community Hospital.

Born in Shamokin, May 5, 1949, he was a son of the late Dal and Faye (Reed) Elliott.
He was a graduate of Shamokin Area High School. After graduation, he was drafted in the U.S. Army for two years and worked in construction for the operating engineers. He retired last year after working 27 years for the Shamokin Post Office.
He loved hunting, playing guitar and being with his family and friends. He was a wonderful husband, father and friend.
He was a member of Trails End Hunting Camp.
Surviving are his wife of 15 years, Donna (Boblick) Elliott; two daughters, Denice Elliott-Heim and her husband, Douglas Heim, and Sandra Elliott and her companion, Eric Johnson; four grandchildren, Julee Elliott, Joshua Heim, Brianna Wallace and Eva Fay Johnson; a great-grandson, Owen Elliott; two sisters, Betty Jane Madara and Bonnie Johnson; seven brothers, Barry, Dal Jr., Randy, Reese, Timothy, Kenneth and Brian, and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, William.
ELLIOTT — Roger R. Elliott, 63, of 352 Hillside Ave., Elysburg. A funeral service will be held at 6:30 p.m. Thursday at Leonard J. Lucas Funeral Home Ltd., 120 S. Market St., Shamokin. Viewing will be from 5 to 6:30 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Leonard J. Lucas Funeral Home Ltd. has charge of arrangements.
