Ronald Robert Burger, 63, of Williamstown died suddenly Friday morning, Dec. 13, 2013 at his home.

Born in Gratz, December 3, 1950, he was a son of Alma M. Williard Burger, Tower City and the late Robert F. Burger.

Ron was a 1968 graduate of Williams Valley High School; a 1969 graduate of the Philadelphia Computer Education Institute. He also attended Harrisburg Area Community College.

He retired after 20 years of service with the 201st Red Horse Squadron Air National Guard, based out of Ft. Indiantown Gap. He also retired as a Computer Analyst from the Public School Employees Retirement System with the Commonwealth of PA. He enjoyed being an auctioneer with Carl and Burger Auction Services.

He was an active member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church, Williamstown where he served on the council and as assistant treasurer. He was a member of the Williamstown American Legion, Wiconisco Tree Toppers Flying Club and the Williamstown Fire Company where he was active with the fire police.

Surviving in addition to his mother, are his wife of 44 years, Susan V. Hopple Burger; his children, Robert R. Burger and his wife Ann Marie, Millersburg; Jennifer Lenker, Lancaster; Abigail Emswiler and her husband Todd, Williamstown and Andrew Burger and his wife Jennifer, Tower City; his grandchildren whom he adored and loved with all his heart, Chelsea, Robert A. and Kelsey Burger; James Deiter; Kaden Emswiler; Trent Jr. and MacKenzie Williard; Taylor and Kayleigh Burger; one brother Scott Burger and his wife Lisa, Lykens; one sister-in-law, Joann and her husband Ronald Host; one brother-in-law, Kent Hopple and his wife Joann; eight nieces and nephews and many dear friends.

Funeral services were held Tuesday, Dec. 17 from Immanuel Lutheran Church, Williamstown with Rev. Kathleen Kuehl officiating. Burial was private with military honors at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations should be made to Immanuel Lutheran Church, East Street, Williamstown, PA 17098.
