Ross A. Baker, 84, of Tower City, died Friday, March 8, 2013 at Holy Spirit Hospital, Camp Hill.

Born in Tower City, May 26, 1928, he was a son of the late Edgar and Helen Miller Baker.
Ross was a 1950 graduate of the former Tower City High School. He retired from the former TRW, Harrisburg.
He was an Army veteran of World War II and the Korean War and also served with the Army National Guard.
He was a member of the Tower City American Legion where he served as past commander, sergeant of arms and past secretary.
Ross was an active member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, Tower City, where he was a member of the choir, former sexton, council member and usher. He was a member and past president of the Tower City Porter Rotary Club, a member and former treasurer of the Tower City Fire Company, Orwin Fire Company, former driver and on the board of directors for the Tower Porter EMS, was a volunteer with Home Health Care and Meals on Wheels.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Marlene M. Zeiders Baker, 2009; a sister, Jane Baker; and brother, Roy Baker.
Surviving are his six children, Karen M. Bopp and her husband, Rich, Williamstown, Theresa A. Weaver and her husband, Luke, Muir, Debra R. Baker, Polk, Ross E. Baker and his wife, Diana, Tower City, Tammie S. Walborn and her husband, Doug, Orwin, and Lisa J. Scott and her husband, Eric, Tower City; nine grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; one brother, Paul Baker, Delaware; one sister, Mae Slingwine, Tower City; and nieces and nephews.
Funeral services were scheduled for 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 13 from the Chapel of the Dimon Funeral Homes Inc., Tower City, with the Rev. Linda Bonfiglio. Interment with full military honors was to be in Greenwood Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations should be made to St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 449 E.
