COAL TOWNSHIP — Roy A. Greager, 86, of 1042 W. Pine St., passed away peacefully at home at 10:50 a.m. Sunday, May 19, 2013, while in the company of his loving family.

Born in Shamokin, Dec. 21, 1926, he was a son of the late Victoria and Roy Greager.
Roy was married to the former Lorraine Stark, who survives.
Enlisting on Dec. 28, 1943, in Williamsport, he proudly served in the U.S. Navy as a gunner's mate 3/C during World War II. Upon his honorable discharge on Jan. 21, 1946, in Bainbridge, Md., he received the European Theater Ribbon, Pacific Theater Ribbon, American Theater Ribbon and Victory Medal.
He was employed as a pipefitter with the Plumbers and Pipefitters Local 520. In addition to the union, Roy was a member of the American Legion, Kulpmont, West End Fire Company, Shamokin, and the Fairview Gun Club, Coal Township.
Surviving are his loving wife, Lorraine, and their five children, Pauline, Donna, Leroy and his wife, Nancy, Lori and her husband, Scott, and Chris and his wife, Trish; 11 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; a sister, Merele Kent; nieces and nephews; and Poco.
In addition to his parents, Roy was preceded in death by a sister, Dorothy Updagrove, and two brothers, John and Donald.
GREAGER — Roy A. Greager, 86, of 1042 W. Pine St., Coal Township. A religious funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at James Kelley Funeral Home, 1001 W. Arch St. at Maple Street, Coal Township, with the Rev. Mr. Robert P. Mack, deacon, officiating. Interment will follow at All Saints Cemetery, Bear Gap.
