KULPMONT — Sandra Popson, 83, of 1001 Pine St., Kulpmont, passed away Saturday, Jan. 26, 2013, after a three-day stay at Mount Carmel Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

Born in Atlas, June 2, 1929, Sandra was a daughter of the late Michael and Natalie Tuduy.
She was a 1946 graduate of Mount Carmel Township High School.
She was married to John J. Humphrey, who died in 1969, and later married Michael T. Popson, who died in 1996.
She was employed by Westington House Inc., of Sunbury, in 1953; also, Mount Carmel Cigar Co. as a sorter and floor lady, and later Anthra and Fiberglass Industries as a machine setter, instructor and pattern setter.
She was a member of International Ladies Garment Workers Union and worked as a trimmer for Lady Hope Inc., in Kulpmont, and a front maker for Mount Carmel Fashions. She retired from Mount Carmel Fashions in 1986.
She was a member of the former St. Casimir's Church, the Altar Rosary Society and Newminites, and most recently Holy Angels Church, of Kulpmont.
She enjoyed singing in the church choirs — the Ukrainian Church Choir, of Mount Carmel, the former St. Casimir's choir and St. Mary's choir, both of Kulpmont.
She was generous at heart, especially to the poor and to her family. She received a blessing and certificates from Pope John Paul II for her generosity. Some of her other favorite organizations that she supported were veterans, U.S. Olympic Team and Native American causes.
She enjoyed cooking, baking and freezing vegetables from the garden, along with dining out and taking trips with her son and others. She also enjoyed attending gatherings with her immediate family and with her new extended family of Rick and Janet Fetteroff, of Pitman.
Surviving are a son, Michael J. Humphrey Sr.; a daughter, Maureen Shepard and her husband, John, of Catawissa; six grandchildren, Susan Yucha and her husband, Mike, of Shamokin, Michael J. Humphrey Jr., of Stonington, Eric Humphrey, of Augustaville, Connie Mayton, of Shamokin, John Mayton Jr., of Shamokin, and Gregory Shepard, of Catawissa; three great-grandchildren, Mariah and Michael Yucha Jr. and Britney Mayton, all of Shamokin; a niece, Marina Connor, of Wayne, N.J.; and her two close friends, Kathleen Varano and Mary Ann Shulskie.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two infant brothers, Peter and Nicholas Tuduy; two sisters, Patricia Tuduy and Mary Filla; and two nephews, Paul Tuduy and Joseph Filla.
She was the last survivor of her family.
POPSON — Sandra Popson, 83, of 1001 Pine St., Kulpmont. Funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at Church of the Holy Angels, 855 Scott St., Kulpmont, with Father Andrew Stahmer officiating. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Kulpmont. Viewing will be held from 6 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, rosary at 8 p.m., and 9 to 10:45 a.m. Thursday at C.J.
