SHAMOKIN — Shirley A. Elliot, 59, of 924 E. Commerce St., passed away Friday, Dec. 27, 2013, at Mountain View: A Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, after a long battle with cancer.

She was born in Mount Carmel, Nov. 24, 1954, a daughter of the late Morton B. and Joan M. (Sharer) Baskin. She was a resident of Shamokin for 23 years.
She was a 1972 graduate of Shamokin High School.
Shirley was married in Shamokin, Sept. 8, 1979, to William Elliott, who survives.
She spent her time at home, taking care of her family and home.
She was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ.
She enjoyed crafts, crossword puzzles, playing cards, games and spending time with family.
In addition to her husband, Shirley is survived by a son, Robert Kern, of Coal Township; a daughter, Casey Horn and her husband, Chris, of Shamokin; three grandchildren, Tyrah Kern and Kylie and Madison Horn; two brothers, Carl Baskin and his wife, Bernie, of Shamokin, and John Baskin, of Florida, and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a nephew, Jeremy Baskin.
ELLIOTT — Shirley A. Elliot, 59, of 924 E. Commerce St., Shamokin. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the Leonard J. Lucas Funeral Home, 120 S. Market St., Shamokin. Those attending the service are asked to meet at the funeral home at 10:45 a.m. There will be no viewing or hours of calling.
