SHAMOKIN — Stanley F. Witkowski, 62, of 329 W. Spruce St., passed away suddenly at 2:45 a.m. Thursday, Dec. 6, 2012, at his residence.

Born Oct. 27, 1950, in New Brunswick, N.J., he was a son of the late Helen (Quinley) and John Witkowski.

He served in the U.S. Army.

He was employed as a security guard for Northumberland County in Sunbury and also at Mountain View Manor. He had previously worked as a security guard at Pace Arrow, Paxinos.

He was of the Protestant faith.

Stanley was a member of the St. Francis Home Association, Shamokin. He enjoyed playing the Pennsylvania Lottery. He was actively involved with Alcoholics Anonymous by completing the program and then mentoring other individuals.

Stanley is survived by two sisters, Elizabeth "Liz" M. Snyder, of Irish Valley, and Catherine Witkowski, of Shamokin; several nieces and nephews, and numerous friends.

In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by four brothers and two sisters.

WITKOWSKI — Stanley F. Witkowski, 62, of 329 W. Spruce St., Shamokin. A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Tuesday at the James Kelley Funeral Home, 1001 W. Arch St. at Maple Street, Coal Township, with the Rev. David Butler, pastor of Bethel Union Chapel, West Cameron, officiating. Friends are invited to call at the visitation from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. At Stanley's request, he was cremated.
