BEAR, Del. — Thomas E. Buggy, 83, passed away Monday, Feb. 3, 2014.

Born Jan. 21, 1931, in Shamokin, Pa., he was a son of the late John and Anna (Moravitz) Buggy. He spent most of his time in East Brunswick, N.J., before moving to Delaware to live with his son, John.
Thomas excelled in sports in high school and, upon graduation, enrolled with the U.S. Army.
During the Korean War and while stationed in Japan, Thomas played basketball for the U.S. Army squad in its intra-military league.
He married Millie Wisniewski, who preceded him in death in 2002.
Upon the completion of his service, Thomas moved to East Brunswick, N.J., where he managed a local pharmacy and store.
Thomas will be remembered as a kind and gentle man. He was very soft spoken and down to earth. He enjoyed cheering for the Phillies, Eagles and even the Yankees.
Thomas is survived by his son, John McDevitt and his wife, Susan; a brother, James; a sister, Marguerite Seger; six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Thomas is also survived by many caring nieces and nephews from New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Washington, D.C., Colorado and other points of the country.
BUGGY — Thomas E. Buggy, 83, of Bear, Del. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at noon Friday at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church, 345 Bear-Christiana Rd., Bear, Del. Committal services will follow in the chapel at All Saints Cemetery, Wilmington, Del. Family and friends may visit beginning at 11 a.m. Friday at the church.
