Violet E. Koppenhaver, 82, formerly of Palmyra and Tower City died Thursday, May 2, 2013 at Twin Oaks Nursing Center, Campbelltown.

Born July 13, 1930 in Valley View, she was a daughter of the late Daniel and Edith (Shade) Bixler.
Retired from the garment industry and Williams Valley School District cafeteria, she attended First Evangelical Congregational Church, Palmyra. She enjoyed gardening, crocheting, baking, bowling and playing Bingo. Her greatest love was family gatherings and beach vacations.
She was the widow of William R. Koppenhaver who died May 8, 2004 and was also preceded in death by brothers Raymond, Eugene, Frank and Russel Bixler and sisters Eleanor Wetzel and Margaret Hartman.
Surviving are her children Sandra, wife of Donald Romberger of Palmyra, Brenda Stenger of Ashburn, Virginia and Lynn Koppenhaver of Berrysburg; sister Ruth Long of California; grandchildren Kimberly Romberger Marvel, Brian Romberger and Jason Koppenhaver; great grandchildren Kortney Marvel, Abigail Romberger, Cameron Romberger and Adam Koppenhaver; and several nieces and nephews.
A memorial service was held Saturday, May 11, at First Evangelical Congregational Church, 55 West Main Street, Palmyra followed by visitation and luncheon. Private interment was in Indiantown Gap National Cemetery, Annville.
